20.7.2015 Community Energy Project Moving Forward

GNCE has already identified four community buildings to install renewables as part of its community energy project and is looking for more. The installations will be funded from a community share issue which will be launched in September. We can survey, design and install renewables and in return will supply low-cost, fixed-price energy for years to come. So if you own a community building, are a church or school or you are a private business wanting to reduce energy costs by generating your own, get in touch.

7.4.2015 Community Energy Champion Training

GNCE will be delivering workshops in September to local people interested in learning about community energy, how to cut energy in the home and launching their own community energy projects. The workshops are open to all but particularly if you are a Liverpool Mutual Homes tenant or live in North Liverpool, East Liverpool, Clubmoor or Granby Toxteth. The workshops are fun and friendly and there is also free advice on how t oset up your own project. If you are interested, email or fill in our enquiry form on the home page.

6.6.2013 Major Community Energy Project Goes Live

Good Neighbour’s first community solar power station, Liverpool Solar One, went live on the roof of Princes Court in Toxteth on March 27th. It consists of 160 Suntech 250w solar photo-voltaic panels generating over 30,000kWh of electricity for a block of 73 tenant-owned flats and was part of a CESP-funded refurbishment (worth over £300,000) secured by Good Neighbour on behalf of the landlord, Princes Court (1984) Ltd. The installation took place during the recent harsh weather but was completed on time by our partner installers, Northern Solar Ltd of Aintree. The residents are now benefitting from lower renewable energy costs and a secure energy future thanks to Good Neighbour. If you are a community organisation, independent housing co-op, residents group, residential home or you are thinking about your own community energy project, get in touch.
